# 2500mods brand guidelines v1

Identity: an independent stock MPC2500 research project. No affiliation with Akai Professional.
Domain: 2500mods.com. Lockup: an LCD-green pad-path numeral 2 with a record-red accent and a condensed 2500 / MODS wordmark.

## Palette

Chassis #111214; surface #202226; pad gray #8b8c88; LCD green #c9d5a4; record red #e04b43; paper #eeece6.
Green carries primary actions and milestones. Red is a sparse accent. Gray is never the only carrier of status meaning.

## Typography

Barlow Condensed Bold for headings. Inter Regular/Medium for body text and forms. IBM Plex Mono Regular/Medium for dates, versions, source labels.
Body 16 px minimum; metadata 12 px minimum. Use self-hosted fonts with system fallbacks.

## Logo

Primary lockup minimum width 150 px. Leave one pad-width of clear space.
Compact emblem at 32 px and above; simplified favicon below 32 px.
Use the original palette or a single-color light treatment. Preserve proportions. No stretching, rotation, glows, or substitute lettering.

## Layout

Charcoal background, open editorial sections, fine metal-gray rules, 3 px controls, generous whitespace.
Desktop two-column content becomes one column on phones. Navigation remains directly tappable.
Strong green focus outline. Respect reduced motion. Use real MPC2500 photography; retain visible source and license credits. Never imply third-party photos document our lab.

## Voice

Dry, snarky, and specific. Roast annoying workflows, empty hype, and our own assumptions. Respect the people making music. One sharp line, then something useful.
Keep instructions, consent, errors, and evidence labels clear and neutral.
Examples: “Receipts before victory laps.” “Minimal inbox crimes.” “Make it better is a mood. Give us the workflow.”
Separate observation, hypothesis, and physical validation.
Every hardware claim needs a source, exact location, and evidence status.
Use “analysis lab and partial CPU probe” until a stock boot is verified.
Offline synthetic checks are not physical hardware validation.
Feature requests inform priorities; they are not promises.
